Environmental Management Solutions have been approved to become a Member of the Association of Geotechnical & Geo-environmental Specialists (AGS).
EMS Geotech undertook the application process in late 2022 with our membership application being approved at the recent AGS Executive meeting.
The Association of Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Specialists (AGS) is a not-for-profit trade association established to improve the profile and quality of geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering. The membership comprises UK organisations and individuals having a common interest in the business of site investigation, geotechnics, geo-environmental engineering, engineering geology, geochemistry, hydrogeology, and other related discipline.
AGS’s mission is to promote and enhance the quality of professional practice in geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering, facilitate close liaison between all environmental organisations and champion and represent the geotechnical and geo-environmental industry.
AGS also strive to represent and uphold Member’s interests in commercial and professional matters, agree and publish guidelines on good practice and on ethical and professional matters and encourage quality management systems in geotechnical and geo-environmental work. AGS are also able to assist and influence decision making within Client organisations.
EMS Geotech are part of the Environmental Management Solutions Group, who offer a broad-spectrum environmental consultancy service. EMS are based in Herefordshire and work throughout the UK primarily serving clients in Hereford, Worcester, Gloucester, Shropshire & South Wales.
EMS were established in 2003 and EMS Geotech setup as a department in 2008. Since then, EMS Geotech have built a varied client base and undertake a range of geo-environmental services including but not limited to:

Our Geotechnical and Geo-environmental team at EMS Geotech are focused on client needs and aim to always provide an exemplary and professional service on all projects, regardless of size.
In 2022 EMS Geotech was joined by a new Associate Director Tom Walby who is based in Cardiff. Tom has been keen to develop the department and grow our existing client list and scope of services, and ensured our application to become a membership of AGS was successful. EMS Geotech was also joined by a new geo-environmental engineer in 2022, Josh Greenland-Pigott. Josh is based in Hereford and able to provide a diverse range of services for our clients in the Herefordshire area. EMS Geotech was also joined by Natalie Thomas, a senior Geologist based in Cardiff & Elliott Packham a geo-environmental scientist based in Hereford in 2022.
