EMS Geotech are thrilled to announce the appointment of a new Associate Director for the department, Tom Walby Bsc Msc FGS AMICE.

Joining EMS Geotech as Associate Director in 2022, Tom is a Geoenvironmental Scientist and Geotechnical Engineer with eighteen years of post graduate experience as a consultant in the UK and abroad.

Tom will be routinely responsible for managing ground investigations and remedial work with clients, landowners, staff and subcontractors and other parties including planning and regulators. Tom will also be actively involved with investigations from design to project completion, producing factual and interpretive geotechnical and geoenvironmental reports and the preparation of specification and validation reports.

As Associate director of EMS Geotech Tom is responsible for leading the delivery and development of geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects across all client sectors for EMS Geotech, providing technical knowledge and direction of geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary teams, project budgets, business development, client liaison and care and the development and delivery of staff coaching and mentoring.

We are excited for this new chapter at EMS Geotech with Tom and hope to continue to build and grow our existing client base throughout the local area as well as increase our regional and national reach.
